Two for Joy

Wedding gift for my two friends who are getting married at the end of the month. They were very fond of my clockwork birds series, so I made something special just for them. These are yellow-billed magpies, which are endemic to California (where they grew up).

This one was a bit tricky; I got excited and drew out the image on the first piece of paper I found, which... as it turned out, was not actually watercolor paper. I think it was printing paper instead. So it did all kinds of strange things and did not behave properly when I was painting on it. It also buckled rather a lot and did not scan nearly as well as I like. Still, it came out okay and they loved it, which is pretty much all that matters.
